Bearded Scorpionfish

Scorpaenopsis Barbata

The Bearded Scorpionfish got his name from the numerous skin extensions around the edge of his mouth. They act as lure for the little fish that the scorpion preys on.

The scorpion will alter the pigment of its skin to match the surrounding coral.
