Leaf Fish
Taenianotus Triacanthus
This little fish is laterally flattened and oscillates back and forth with the surge in shallow water, in the mimicry of a dead leaf. Along with its dorsal spine, this protects the Leaf fish from predation. This clever camouflage fools the small prey that are its diet. It has the peculiar habit of regularly shedding its skin.
